Frequently asked questions

  • Microdosing involves consuming a psychedelic substance at a fraction of a regular dose, typically ranging from 1/5 to 1/20 of a typical recreational or therapeutic dose. This approach ensures that the individual experiences only subtle, subperceptible effects, allowing them to maintain normal functioning without interference. Essentially, it's a way of harnessing the potential benefits of psychedelics without the intensity of a full trip.

  • Recent research, including a study published in Nature, suggests that microdosing psilocybin can offer significant benefits for mental health. Participants in these studies have reported notable improvements in mood and overall mental well-being, with effects observed as early as one month into the practice. This suggests that microdosing may hold promise as a therapeutic tool for enhancing mental health and emotional resilience.

  • Research findings suggest otherwise. Multiple studies have investigated this question, consistently concluding that psilocybin microdosing does not pose an addictive risk. In fact, psilocybin has shown promise in treating addiction, with studies such as the one conducted at the University of New Mexico indicating significant reductions in alcohol intake (up to 80%) among participants who underwent psychotherapy and received high-dose psilocybin in guided sessions. These findings underscore the therapeutic potential of psilocybin while dispelling concerns about addiction.

  • Absolutely! My recent book, Conscious Physician Method: Conscious Life Practices & Psilocybin, offers comprehensive guidance on microdosing protocols backed by scientific evidence and practical insights. Recognized as a Best Selling Author and #1 in four categories, I provide readers with the tools to approach microdosing with intention and healing. Whether you're new to the practice or seeking to deepen your understanding, this resource empowers individuals to harness the potential benefits of microdosing effectively.

  • Conscious Life Practices (CLPs) are daily routines designed to optimize neurobiology and physiology, grounded in mindfulness and self-awareness. These evidence-based practices encompass 20 techniques spanning physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual domains, empowering individuals to cultivate holistic well-being and resilience in their daily lives.

  • Commonly used drug tests do not usually look for psilocybin. Psilocybin may show up on specific drug tests designed to detect hallucinogens, but many standard drug tests do not test for these compounds. Because the body processes the mushrooms and their compounds relatively quickly, specific drug tests may need to take place promptly after ingestion for them to find any traces of the drug. Who am I?

I’m a Western-trained doctor who recovered from severe burnout and healed trauma using Eastern practices and plant medicine.

Like you, I wear a lot of hats and know what it is like to have a lot going on. Often, healing takes a backseat when we're stuck in survival mode, barely keeping up with our daily grind. Yet the experiences, memories and emotions we push away hinder our growth and vitality, affecting every area of life until we’re forced to tend to them.

I've walked the path of burnout myself, hitting rock bottom (hard) before finding my way back into the light. My journey reached a breaking point as I grappled with unresolved trauma from growing up in Iran, the challenges of motherhood, and the toll of medical practice. Conventional medicine failed to provide the answers I sought, leading me to explore alternative paths. I began microdosing psilocybin and meditating, and from this journey emerged the Conscious Physician Method—a unique fusion of Conscious Life Practices and Psilocybin coaching. Drawing from my diverse background as a physician, researcher, hospice care worker, and plant medicine expert, my approach is grounded and holistic.

Now, I share these transformative practices with a global audience, reaching physicians, therapists, healthcare professionals, and executives, as well as indigenous and marginalized communities in New Mexico. Everyone deserves the opportunity to heal and thrive. Every morning, I wake up with profound gratitude knowing that I have the privilege to support others on their path towards wholeness and well-being.
